A: Yes. For more information about our Social Services, click on the Menu item entitled “What We Do – Social Services.”

Q: How is The Caring Place meeting spiritual needs?
A: In four important ways:

  • The volunteers that The Caring Place utilizes model the love of Christ and treat each client need with concern and dignity.
  • Staff, volunteers, and clients meet daily for devotions to encourage one another.
  • Our social worker assesses spiritual needs as when she meets with each individual and offers to pray with them at the close of each session.
  • Referrals are made to churches for further spiritual intervention as needed.
  • The Caring Place utilizes special volunteers whose sole purpose is to connect with the people we serve by offering prayer and encouragement.

Q: What is an on-going need at The Caring Place?
A: The Caring Place has several on-going needs:

  • Financial Support: The honor of serving our community is only made possible because of the financial support we receive from our community. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and make a huge difference in our ability to help people. For more information about becoming a financial partner, contact our office.
  • Food: We are always in need of canned food, dry goods, and fresh produce because we distributed an average of 22,500 pounds of groceries per month in 2016 to those in need. Some specific items are: canned meat (chicken, tuna, etc.), peanut butter, jelly, dry pasta, and sauces. See below for drop off times and location.
  • Volunteers:  It takes at least 30 volunteers to run our facility while we are open to the public, so as you can imagine volunteers are a crucial component to the work we do! We have volunteer positions for all different gifts, skill sets, interests, and schedules. For more information on joining our volunteer team contact The Caring Place at info@thecaringplaceonline.org.
  • Liaisons: Come be a part of the community and see those who we help. Walk the halls and lend an ear, a hand, or a prayer. Many of the people who come to The Caring Place need more than just food and clothing, they need someone who cares enough to listen.
  • Clothing & Household Items: We distribute gently used clothing and household items. We are frequently low on men’s clothing, shoes for people of all ages, linens, and blankets. See below for drop off times and location.
