Kim Brooks is the Director of Event Planning at Lee University, where she has worked for 19 years. She specializes in logistics, crisis management, and event planning. Since 2000, her office has also coordinated with dozens of summer conferences annually to host over 160,000 kids on Lee’s campus. She is in her second term as a member of the Board of Directors for The Caring Place and has worked with Volley for a Cure, Relay for Life, and March of Dimes. Kim and her husband Kevin have two children, Zach and Elizabeth.
Tom is the Director of Produce/Floral Operations for Cooke’s Food Store, and Fresh n’ Low Cost Plus. Tom has worked in the grocery business for 40 years and is a Cleveland, Tennessee native. A graduate of Bradley High School, he also attended Cleveland State Community College. Tom has been married to Shirlee for 29 years, they attend services at The International House of Fire Church in Cleveland. They have four wonderful children and 2 lovely granddaughters.
Steve is the President and Chief Financial Officer of Southern Heritage Bank. He moved to Cleveland in 1979 to join Cleveland Bank & Trust Company as Vice President and Controller. In 1993, he accepted the position of Senior Vice President and Division Manager of the Commercial Lending Group at First American National Bank in Cleveland. In August of 1998, he left First American to participate in the formation of Southern Heritage Bank. Mr. Ledbetter is a graduate of Carson Newman College and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He is active in the local community through membership in the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce and the United Way. He is a past president of the Council of United Services where he received the Volunteer of the Year Award. He is a past president and treasurer of the Cleveland Family YMCA and a recipient of the C.L. Hardwick Service Award. He is a past treasurer of the Cleveland Sertoma Club and currently a member of the Cleveland Kiwanis Club. He and his wife, Beverly, are members of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. They have two children and two grandchildren.
Duane Pace – Secretary/Treasurer
Duane came to Cleveland, TN from Pahokee, FL as a Lee College student, graduating with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration. He later earned his Masters of Divinity from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in 1998. Duane has currently served Lee University as Comptroller for nearly 10 years. Prior to joining Lee, Duane worked for Life Care Centers of America where he supervised in their department of Facility Financial Services and later in Life Care’s affiliated company for their captive insurance. Before locating to Cleveland TN, Duane was employed by United States Sugar Corporation in Clewiston, FL where he supervised accounting functions at their corporate office. Duane enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and coaching his son’s baseball teams. Duane and his wife, Elizabeth have four children and have attend North Cleveland Church of God for more than 15 years.
Steve Smartt – Chairman
Dr. Steve Smartt serves as the senior pastor of Westwood Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. A graduate of Lee University, Dr. Smartt received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. After ten years in banking and management, Dr. Smartt entered pastoral ministry to serve churches in TN, FL, KY and GA. In addition to serving the local church, Dr. Smartt is a part-time professor of business ethics at Lee University, an adjunct professor of bioethics for the School of Theology at Grand Canyon University, and has been a visiting professor of marriage and family at the Kiev Theological Seminary in Kiev, Ukraine. He also serves as a hospital chaplain for Tennova Healthcare. He and his wife Cheryl have four adult children, three daughters-in-law and four grandchildren.
Sandra Kay Williams
Reverend Sandra Kay Williams is the Pastor of Prayer Ministries and Women’s Ministries at the North Cleveland Church of God and International Prayer Center in Cleveland, Tennessee. An ordained minister and Lee University honor graduate, Williams serves on the Ministerial Development Committee for the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, the Board of Directors for The Caring Place (a non-profit aiding the disenfranchised of Bradley County), and The HELPER advisory council (an international, interdenominational ministry to spouses of pastors).
Pastor Sandra Kay was recently elected to the Church of God Tennessee State Ministries Board and is under appointment on the Missions Board and the State Prayer Commission. Williams led four years as the International Women’s Director for the Church of God and raised awareness and funds of over 1.2 million dollars for OPERATION FREEDOM, a mission’s project to rescue children from human trafficking.
She is frequently called upon to speak in various venues and has preached around the globe, but most enjoys her local ministry mentoring Lee University students and leading her church in prayer each Sunday. Pastor Sandra Kay has been married since 1989 to Dr. Mark L. Williams, Lead Pastor at NCCOG. They have a grown son, Austin, married to Barrie Rose, and one teenager, Ryan, who is a multiple award-winning musician playing numerous instruments.
