Board of Directors

is a Tennessee native, who has lived in Cleveland over 20 years. Mrs. Wright is a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she serves as an Elder. She is involved in the Logos program, supports Friends of the Library (FOLA), and works with the Annual Allied Arts Charities Jubilee raising money for art programs in the schools. She is married to Steve Wright and they are the proud parents of Rob and Mary.

is a 1990 graduate of NC Wesleyan College with a BS in Business Administration. While at NC Wesleyan, Michael began his now 20 year career with Marriott Campus Services, known as Sodexho Campus Services. While in North Carolina, Michael served on two hunger boards in Asheville and Chapel Hill and organized hunger initiatives at all eight campuses where he has worked. He was recognized in 2005 by Sodexho with the Hero of Everyday Life Award. This award is given to honor individuals for their time, talent and service spirit in fighting hunger and poverty in the United States. Michael became the general manager of dining services at Lee University in August of 2005. Born in Rockville, Connecticut, Cleveland is now home to Michael, his wife Lori, and his son Grayson.

is a full professor and chair of the Department of Business at Lee University. He holds a MBA from Middle Tennessee State and a DBA from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Thompson is an active member of Westmore Church of God and has served the community in many ways. He was a past president of the Board of Directors for the Family Resource Agency and continues now as a member of their board. He is on the Economic Development Council, Existing Industry Committee, and Education and Workforce Development Committee at the Chamber of Commerce. He has worked several years on distribution panels for United Way and will chair the United Way committee for Lee University this year. He is married to Cathy and has two children: Amie, a high school teacher, and Lauren, a senior in high school.

is a native of Henderson Kentucky. Dr. Littrell is married to Chloe and is blessed with two adult children. Dr. Littrell did his undergraduate work at Evangel College, received a Masters from Missouri State University, and completed his Doctorate in Historical Theology from Candler School of Theology. Dr. Littrell came to Cleveland in 1975, accepting a teaching position at a private school. He pastored in Dayton and Chattanooga on and off for the last 20 years. Dr. Littrell has an extensive background as a civil rights activist that dates from the 1960’s and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s Freedom Marches. He is a highly involved member of the NAACP in Bradley County and has been honored with a Community Service Award.

has more than 10 years of experience in accounting management and leadership both in private and public companies. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Lee University. Ms Hart considers faith and service an integral part of her life. In addition to this board, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America and the Bradley Initiative for Church and Community (BICC). Ms. Hart is active in Tennessee Society of CPAs, a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) and is noted among Who’s Who in International Business Leadership. Ingrid received her MBA from the University of Tennessee – Chattanooga.

is a NAMB Missionary and the Ministry Evangelism Director for the Bradley Baptist Association. Randy was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and received his Bachelor’s degree from Bluefield College in Virginia. He received his Masters of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. He has been serving in Cleveland since 2001. Randy mobilizes more than 2000 volunteers each year through ministries such as Ocoee Outreach, Project Helping Hands, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, English as a Second Language programs, and LateNight Basketball. Rev. Bonner is married to Julie and they have two children, Josiah and Cassie.

is the pastor of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is a graduate of the Program of Alternate Studies, a program of studies administered by the Memphis Theological Seminary of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Cliff serves as Chairman of the Board of Missions of Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery and also serves on the Board of trustees of the Historical Foundation of the Cumberland Presbyterian and the Cumberland Presbyterian Churches of America. Reflecting the deep commitment to local ministry of his church, Pastor Cliff currently serves on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity, Bradley Initiative for Church and Community and The Caring Place. Cliff is married to Jill, and they have a blended family of two sons, Clifford and Jamie, and a daughter, Ericka.

has been the Director of Cleveland City Schools since 1994. Prior to this position he was the Superintendent of Camden County Schools in North Carolina. Dr. Denning received his Bachelors Degree and Masters in Education from East Carolina University. He received his Ed. D in Public School Administration from Campbell University. Dr. Denning is married to Evelyn, and they have two children: Brandon and Mary Alice.

is beginning his 18th year of assisting senior investors with retirement planning and asset protection. He was recently named as one of “America’s Top Financial Planners 2006-2007,” by the Consumers’ Council of America. He has received a personal commendation from the President of the United States for his efforts to help Americans with their money. David graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a BS in Finance. He holds the Certified Financial Planner designation as well as the Chartered Life Underwriters. He earned his certification as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor from the college of Financial Planning. David has taught Successful Money Management courses at Chattanooga State Community College, Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Wesleyan College. David is married to Kay, and they have a son.

is the Operations Supervisor for Cooke’s Food Store, Super Saver Cost Plus and The Season’s Harvest Market. Tom has worked in the grocery business for 34 years and is a Cleveland, TN native. A graduate of Bradley High School, he also attended Cleveland State Community College. Tom is currently on the Board of The Caring Place and The Wellness Steps of Tennessee, Inc. Tom has been married to Shirlee for 22 years, and they have 4 wonderful children.

  • Henry Smith, Chairman
  • is currently serving as Senior Adjunct Professor at Lee University. He did his undergraduate work at Barton College, received his Masters at Fresno State University and his DMin. at California Graduate School of Theology. Dr. Smith served in the Army for two years, as a pastor for fourteen years, the Academic Dean of West Coast Christian College for ten years, President of East Coast Bible College for seven years and Administrator at Lee University for fifteen years. He has also worked as a local church administrator for six years. He is married to Betty and has two children and five grandchildren.
